He's Home—Monday, July 20, 1:43 pm

Everyone put forth a valiant effort, but at 1:43 this afternoon Robert went to a better place. In the end his heart couldn't keep up with the demands and gave out. The hospital staff has been wonderful throughout. We're together as a family, taking care of all of the details that are a part of this process. When we have determined plans for the viewing and funeral, we will post them. Thanks for all of your prayers and support through this very long week. The outcome was not what we had hoped for, but our eternal hope is secure.

Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
Revelation 21:3-4

  10. We are truly saddened to hear of your loss. Robert was one of the most generous men I have ever known. Had it not been for Robert hiring my husband Bryan almost 9 years ago, I don't know where he would be today. Robert truly made an impact on my husband's life in more ways than one. Bryan admired him for his business ethic, for the father he was to his children and to his commitment to his faith. My thanks to Robert for giving the gift of friendship to my husband. May God be with you, Tracy, the children and all of the family during the times ahead. We will continue to pray.

    He will be missed.

  19. I was deeply saddened to receive the call that Robert had passed away and so was our entire office when I shared the news. Robert was one of the most generous and supportive people I have ever known and he was always there to share a funny story or a business lesson. As Robert truly made an impact on our friendship, I am sure that he did so with the many people, family, friends and business associates that he had met along the way. Robert was deeply committed to his family, children and faith and I know that it will be the combined faith that will carry everyone through. May God be with his family and the employees of Morgantown Masonry during the difficult times ahead. We will continue to pray for all of you in this journey.

  21. This came as a shock to us. My heart goes out to the family and friends during this time, especially the children. God is able to bring about supernatural comfort in this time. This is bitter, bitter news, and my prayers are that God would bring about healing for this family for years to come.

  28. Just a short time after receiving the news of Robert's home-going, I went into one of my guest rooms to change the bedding after having overnight guests. I read the devotional (which I leave there for guests) for today...'
"I will come back and take you home." Jesus is our personal Shepherd. He is personally responsible to lead us home. And because He is present when any of his sheep dies, we can say with David, " We will fear no evil." '

Since you chose to take him from us,thank you, Jesus, for being there to lead Robert home.

Vernie, my dear sister, Cindy and Lanny, Connie, Karen and Joe, Tracy and all the children, we are praying for you as you face the tomorrows. God has promised to be with you. When we don't understand His actions, we can trust His heart.

    Love and prayers,
    Dale and Rosemary

Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: --How we need your strength and perfect peace, dear Lord, as we lose our precious Robert. I am so thankful for the time I spent with him on earth but will now look upward to a time when we will never part. 45. Vern, Karen, Cindy, and Connie, a tragedy strikes and memories are kindled. A chapter ends, but not the story. Robert's life, like ours is authored. Faith says to Hope, you will not be disappointed. The Author of all says the story's not through, the final chapter reveals a reunion with you, and the grand opportunity to get our "books" signed. The various bloggers reveal a love that binds and supports you all. Ours comes from a chapter past and memories, even if somewhat fading, still dear. Nothing, nothing, nothing has separated Robert from the love of God in Christ. Bob & Karen King, Florida
